Councilperson Ball has a passion and desire to make financial literacy and empowerment a priority in Howard County. He initiated, in partnership with many including our County Executive, Howard County Public School System, Howard Community College and the Howard County Library system, our annual Financial Literacy Event free to our attendees to educate residents on the importance of fiscal responsibility. 2010 marked our fourth annual event stressing the importance of financial education and gives our attendees options to learn ways to improve spending habits, increase investments and prepare for their future through retirement or long term care options. Calvin believes that by providing resources and empowering our residents to learn how to stretch their finances and make important, responsible financial decisions we can move towards a future of economic sustainability.
